  • Take a hike at Evans Pond

    Take in spectacular views while taking a walk around Evans Pond with the Evans Pond Partnership of the Cherry Hill Environmental Board, Haddonfield Environmental Commission, and Haddonfield Water Trail Association on Sunday, December 8.

    From noon to 3 p.m., there will be two different hikes: an easy, 20-minute hike on the Croft Farm trail side of Evans Pond; and a moderate, 60-minute walk that includes both Cherry Hill’s Croft Farm Trails and the Haddonfield side of Evans Pond, which is Camden County parkland. 

    Hikes will take place simultaneously at noon. and 2 p.m.

    If participating in the moderate hike, please note there are slopes and the trails will be wet so please wear appropriate footwear. 

    Please meet in the Croft Farm Arts Center at the designated time.  The Arts Center is located at 100 Bortons Mill Road, Cherry Hill, NJ 08034.

  • Coat swap at Cherry Hill library

    The Cherry Hill library is collecting gently-worn coats and jackets for all ages.

    The public can sort through the available options without needing to be a library card-holder or township resident. Hours to pick up a coat will be Tuesday from 5 to 8:30 p.m. and Wednesday, Dec. 11, 10:30 a.m. to noon and 5 to 8:30 p.m.

    The effort is part of the library’s commitment to sustainability by making sure clothes don’t end up in landfills.

    The only types of clothing we will accept are:

    • Cocktail dresses and gowns
    • Shawls and wraps
    • Suit jackets and vests
    • Ties and bowties
    • Dress shirts and pants
    • Cumberbunds and suspenders
    • Got extra hangers? We’ll take them!

    The library will not accept any footwear, jewelry, hair accessories or purses. 

    All clothing should be gently used and in good condition. Please do not bring items that are falling apart or stained.

    Samaritan will host its annual Tree of Life: Season of Light illumination program at its headquarters in Mount Laurel on Tuesday, Dec. 3, at 7 p.m.

    The ceremony is making its return this year to an in-person, outdoor event. It is open to the public and will feature inspirational readings and music, followed by refreshments and fellowship. As part of the ceremony, guests will be invited to dedicate a symbolic light in memory of someone who has died or to honor someone special in their lives.

    All proceeds raised will benefit the more than 11,000 Samaritan patients, clients and families in South Jersey who utilize Samaritan’s primary care, palliative medicine, hospice care, grief support and other programs.

    Samaritan’s 2025 gala honorary co-chairs Greg and Traci Button of Moorestown have been longtime supporters and advocates for Samaritan.

    Samaritan will hold its annual Celebration of Life Gala, presented by Holman Enterprises, at Live! Casino & Hotel Philadelphia in Philadelphia on February 8, 2025. The annual fundraising event celebrates Samaritan’s 45 years of providing an expanding range of life-enhancing care to more than 11,000 patients, families and clients annually throughout Atlantic, Burlington, Camden, Gloucester and Mercer counties.

    This year’s gala will feature food, live music by Masquerade, dancing and more. Greg and Traci Button of Moorestown, who are both longtime Samaritan supporters and advocates, have been named the 2025 gala honorary co-chairs.

    Each year, Samaritan’s gala also honors individuals and organizations who are dedicated in their service to Samaritan, as well as the greater South Jersey community. Samaritan is proud to announce its 2025 honorees:

    To further support fundraising efforts and engagement, Samaritan’s gala will once again feature:

    • Virtual Online Auction – featuring a variety of specialty items for bid, from trips and travel packages to gift baskets, sports memorabilia, brand-name items and more. The online auction will open for bidding on February 1, 2025.
